OCTOBER 17-19 Paul’s Theology of Atonement: Can it be Defended? Dr. Simon Gathercole

SPECIAL GUEST SPEAKER DR. SIMON GATHERCOLE

Dr. Simon Gathercole is Lecturer in New Testament Studies and Fellow at Fitzwilliam College, University of Cambridge. He also serves as senior editor of the Journal for the Study of New Testament. Prior to his posting at Cambridge Dr. Gathercole was for a number of years on the faculty at the University of Aberdeen. He has studied in Cambridge, Durham, Tübingen, and the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York. His studies included classics and early Judaism. Dr. Gathercole specializes in Christology and the doctrine of the atonement. He currently is writing a commentary on the Gospel of Thomas. He has published many learned studies. Dr. Gathercole is known around the world and is much sought-after speaker.
